…because quite frankly, falling short of using potties, clambering up the makeshift soggy phone directories and hovering our derrieres over the rim is getting beyond a joke, and more to the point, dangerous!

I am the Golden Gnome. Hear me roar…

…if anything it’s more Clock Work Orange than Prison Break, as surreal as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, apart from the bald orange umper lumpers are replaced by a buffed up naked Tom Hardy covered in black paint and cooking oil…

Now we’ve all played the ‘who would you like to get trapped in a lift with’ game, if you’d asked Ryan this morning Ramit wouldn’t of even featured in his top ten, but we don’t always get what we wish for do we now. The second record of the day was smashed by these two for the longest time spent trapped in our temperamental lift, spending a whole 25 minutes cuddled up together. Only they know what they did to pass the time…

I have convinced myself I have swine flu after reading a self diagnosis in the morning paper. Headaches?…Yup. Sore limbs?…Yeah!…Loss of appetite?…Well I didn’t really fancy any breakfast this morning…Argh I’ve got pig flu!!

Good day to you ladies and gentleman, welcome to another weekly round up of HS&P’s shenanigans.
I cant start review this week without mentioning the ‘W’ word, as its been plastered all over the media this week, it is, love it or hate it, the first week of Wimbledon. Now I’d just like to make this wager before it’s too late.
With every world cup, European Cup…any national competition we see the British press making over the top proclamations that this will be ‘Our Year’…EVERYTIME…and then what happens, we get embarrassingly knocked out at the first hurdle…or sometimes done even make it that far.

Monday: In contrast to last Monday it was a very wet and bleak start to the week, there was definitely no chest hair on display this Monday morning. However one thing did remain the same, the food delivery yet again…was late, and with the wet and gloomy weather outside, the coffee lovers this week were far less forgiving. For the fear of being confused as an inanimate object and thrown angrily across the office, I hid in a cupboard until it had arrived…
Now I’m not saying Mondays aren’t happier here at HS&P than the typical 9-5 drag, but last Monday was a particularly Happy one (hence the capital). This was all down to the glorious, blink and you’ll miss it, weather that we were experiencing, and by the amount of rosie cheeks and noses gracing the office people had clearly been abusing too many beer gardens over the weekend.

I’d like to discuss… (Borderline rant) about something that’s really got my skinny golden dungarees in a twist this week. A topic that’s had, in my gnomes opinion, far too many column inches, Oven Prides latest T.V campaign. The said campaign is in the news over allegations of sexism; the ASA (the Advertising Standards Authority for those not in the know) has received almost 700 complaints.
The Golden Gnome is back! For reasons that may compromise Scandinavian National security I can’t say where I’ve been, however, suffice to say, I’m back for good, giving you outsiders a gnomes eye view of the weekly ongoings here at Bewlay House.

On Friday 10th October, Pollensa, Mallorca, was invaded by HS&P… and I was lucky enough to be taken along for the ride. Granted I didn’t cost anything as I was – a little unceremoniously – stuffed into someone’s hand luggage in order to get on the plane, but I didn’t mind as after a fairly dismal UK summer I was looking forward to a bit of sun as much as everyone else.
